The Importance of Getting Help
It is so normal to feel alone when you are struggling, however, mental health challenges are common and unfold in a variety of settings. In any given year, one in five adults in the United States will experience a mental health issue, that’s almost 50 million Americans. According to Mental Health America, over 27 million Americans experiencing a mental illness aren’t getting treatment. If you are struggling, you are not alone. When you feel you need it, it’s important to get help for a number of reasons:
- You deserve to be happy. Mental health challenges can be very debilitating and can prevent you from living a full and happy life.
- Your mental well-being is important. Mental health problems can be difficult to manage on your own and can sometimes lead to more serious life issues including job loss, substance abuse, relationship problems, and even suicidal thoughts or actions if left untreated.
- It’s ok to ask for help. A therapist can provide the tools and support you need to improve your quality of life and effectively manage your mental health and its impact on your everyday life.
How I Can Help
Therapy can help you learn new ways of thinking and behaving, and gain insight into your emotions and relationships.
Through psychotherapy, you can develop greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-compassion. You can learn to manage your emotions more effectively, set boundaries in your relationships, and make healthier choices in your life.

No, only clients ages 18 and up.
Yes, I employ a hybrid model of in-person and virtual (telehealth) therapy sessions. In-person care will require clients to be COVID-vaccinated/boosted and provide proof of vaccination prior to session. In-person care will also be contingent on local and state COVID mandates. You can decide which setting is more comfortable for you.
The frequency of therapy sessions depends on your specific needs and the goals you have for therapy. Some people may need to go to therapy weekly, while others may only need to go once a month.
This is a difficult question to answer because it really depends on the individual and the issues being addressed in therapy. Some people may only need a few sessions to work through a specific issue, while others may need ongoing therapy for a longer period of time to address more complex issues. Ultimately, the goal of therapy is to help you develop the skills and knowledge necessary to cope with your challenges in a more effective way.
